What We Believe

Rooted in Scripture and the faith once delivered

Church of Jasper is a gospel-centered fellowship that seeks to be shaped by the Word of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit. We hold to the historic Christian faith and desire to live in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.

The Scriptures

We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative, and sufficient Word of God. It is our final authority for faith and practice. We are committed to the careful teaching and application of Scripture in the life of the church and the individual believer.

God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who are equal in every divine perfection and who execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption.

Jesus Christ

We believe in the full deity and full humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitutionary atonement for sin, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return in glory.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. It is the free gift of God, not earned by works, and results in a transformed life of obedience and love for God and neighbor.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit regenerates, indwells, seals, and empowers every true believer. We seek His guidance, presence, and power in our gatherings and in daily life, desiring to walk in step with the Spirit as the early church did.

The Church

We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, composed of all true believers. Locally, we gather as a community of faith for worship, teaching, prayer, fellowship, and mutual edification. We value the simplicity of the early church and the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

The Christian Life

We believe every believer is called to a life of righteousness, holiness, and good works prepared by God. We contend for the faith once delivered to the saints and pursue a deeper walk with the Lord that is marked by love, humility, and obedience.

“Where Truth Searching Hearts… Find Heart Searching Truths”

These convictions guide our preaching, our fellowship, and our life together. We invite you to come and examine the Scriptures with us.
